Joyce

Out of the 157 images I shot on Sunday, I ended up selecting #20 to post. I chose this image because even on a dull cloudy day, the photo still stood out from all the others. I considered the histogram as I narrowed down the choices, (although most of mine had the spikes in them). I only have the lens that came with the camera (18-55mm), so I decided to blow the photo up to 100% to see if the photo had the clarity it should. When I did, low and behold, there was some guy relieving himself on the switchback trails below the capital building. His back was turned away from the camera, so there is no maturity rating necessary for this photo! Photo stats: tripod used, Nikon D60, image setting - fine, 55mm, ISO 100, White Balance on auto, 1/200s, F/5.6.

  1. Joyce, i love this picture. What a great job you did of capturing the muted colors of the scene; and the texture of the clouds reflectied in the lake make it look like a painting, yet you give us the 3 dimentional depth of field we long for in a photo. I love the framing and the way the clouds end behind the capital dome. I don't think words can describe what I see. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
