I started getting shots from behind the blocks. And using different ideas. One that seemed to bring some real nice pictures was holding the camera low to the ground and aiming it at the swimmer and taking the shot as he dived off the block.
This really was so much cooler then anything I had did. You'd get the crowd, the water, everything too because I was using my wide angle lens verses my telephoto that you always see at sport activities. It was a much different view of the swimmer then what most see. There was times when I’d get very wet, but I didn't care, this was my last chance this season. I even delayed the start of a relay because I was too close to the blocks. But like I said, I didn't care. Had to get the shot.
